I never feel I properly introduced this blogger, so here it is and why I started The Mother Dome...
I am not just a mother of a seven month baby boy, I was also a childcare facilitator in private homes, daycares, and was a nanny for 17 years. Yup I started babysitting at the age of 13, and worked at Creme de la Creme in Atlanta in my early 20s and then after school became a nanny for a few years in New York. I have a pretty vast knowledge of all things baby, from what I would use (baby product wise), to how I would handle a tantrum, to what are some of the best activities to get your baby to follow your lead without the use of sign language. Understanding your baby is special, it's a special bond between you and your child. No other person will ever be able to communicate with your child better than it's caregiver.
As a nanny I definitely developed a special bond with the children I worked for, but whenever mommy or daddy got home, I was ultimately left in the dust.
Being an artist first, I was able to apply alot of creativity into the daily play of each childes life, it was a great way for them to explore. I feel (to this day) so overwhelmingly grateful for the jobs I had, the people I worked for, and the children I loved so deeply. So I am not just some lady writing about her knowledge of kid because she thinks she's hot stuff. I am keeping this blogger, in the hopes that someone out there, might just learn something from me, and I can pass all this knowledge down to someone else. It's also a fun way to share things that I like (that relate to life as mommy, or products for children.
If you would like to become a contributor to the Mother Dome, feel free to contact me :)
In the meantime read on, and enjoy!
